“The Dream Whisperer” Documentary LA & NY Premieres

The Tennessee A&I 1957-59 teams were the first in college basketball history to win back-to-back-to-back national championships in any division and they accomplished this amazing feat amidst intense racism in the segregated south. The Tigers were coached by the late Hall of Fame legend John McLendon and led on the court by MVP Dick “Skull” Barnett. This documentary, produced by Live Star Entertainment, chronicles Dr. Barnett’s dream and quest to have his legendary college teams inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Further, this film archives Dr. Barnett’s life’s dedication to education and dreams and his ongoing fight for social justice. On April 30th, 2022, “The Dream Whisperer” premiered in Los Angeles at The Pan African Film & Arts Festival at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza followed by the premiere in New York City on June 2nd at Village East by Angelika.
